Tweening at Home

The Unteachables is an amazing book by author Gordon Korman. Not only do I recommend this book but also his other funny stories. When Mr. Kermit has to teach one more, just one more class before early retirement, it had to be: The Unteachables. The Unteachables are a group of trouble makers and misfits who, well, cause trouble. Aldo, who has anger issues. Elaine has a reputation that "rhymes with pain." Parker can't read. Barnstorm is a retired jock. Mateo is lost in fantasy worlds. Rahim the  sleep-deprived artist. And then there's Kiana who doesn't even belong there! Will Mr. Kermit survive with the  Unteachables? Will the Unteachables just prank him like all the other teachers? Or will Mr. Kermit and the  Unteachables become a class that no one will ever forget? Book: This is such an amazing book! There is humor, saving the day, and even a bit of mush. Read this! Gordon Korman always has a good plot and some humor packed into every one of his stories.

Flipped is probably one of the best books or movies I have ever watched/read.  When they meet in second grade, Juli Baker instantly  falls  in love with her neighbor, Bryce Loski. Bryce, however, does not feel the spark. From that day forward, he tries hard to avoid Juli and keep her unpredictable-ness away. After six years, she begins to feel that she was wrong about him being the love of her life and looks beneath the surface. Unfortunately, that is just about the time that Bryce begins to think he was wrong about Juli, too.  Book:  It might be a romance, but it is a really cute book about how both of them see beneath the surface. It has a really good story even if it is a little mushy. I would give it 5 stars! Movie: I love the movie as well and I love how the director really alternated the point of view just like the author did in the book. The movie contains less details, but it is much more visual and it is as amazing as the book.
